Mark has contributed to training around TB prevention and control activities since GTBI was a Model TB Center in the mid-nineties in response to the TB resurgence. In this role, some of his responsibilities include taking the lead in all congregate setting TB contact investigations, initiating legal interventions, working with nurse case managers to conduct contacts investigation, and address issues related to airborne infection isolation through collaboration with hospital infection control practitioners.

He lends his expertise not just to folks in New Jersey but also throughout the Northeast region of the United States. Contact investigation is based on scientific and epidemiological evidence, but working closely with Mark makes one realize that contact investigation is also an art!
